A Japanese national was arrested last week for reportedly hiding in a women's restroom and taking pictures, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department arrest report.

Daisuke Hondo, 36, of Murfreesboro was arrested April 9 by MPD Detective Tommy Roberts and charged with unlawful photography and attempted sexual exploitation of a minor.

Roberts said he investigated Hondo after there was a report of a man hiding in the women's restroom at a local retail store.

The investigation found Hondo entered a ladies' room and "a short time later, the victim, a 15- year-old girl" went into the same restroom.

"Evidence further shows that Mr. Hondo took photos and/or video of the girl," Roberts said.

The victim saw Hondo's actions and chased him from the restroom and out of the store.

Hondo was booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center and was released on $150,000 bond. His court date is set for May.
