In light of Friday's resignation of Murfreesboro City Manager Rob Lyons, the city council announced it will hold a special-called meeting Monday afternoon.

According to the media advisory, the meeting will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18 in room 218 at City Hall.

The purpose of the meeting is to consider a Separation Agreement with Lyons and a resolution appointing an interim city manager.

Lyons became the City’s first assistant city manager in January 1997 and was promoted to city manager in 2009. That same year, he was awarded the Pinnacle Award by the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce and named the Daily News Journal Person of the Year. The Nashville Business Journal named him a “Rutherford County Person of Influence” in 2014.

City Hall is located at 111 West Vine St. in Murfreesboro.
