J.C. Bowman is the Executive Director and CEO of Professional Educators of Tennessee, with nearly 40 years of experience in the field of education. He began his career teaching high school social studies and special education in Tennessee public schools. Since 2011, he has led Professional Educators with a focus on legislative priorities and education policies. Previously, he was the Chief Policy Analyst for the Education Policy Unit under Florida Governor Jeb Bush, contributing to a significant revision of the state’s school code. Bowman is also a respected speaker and author, with appearances on various media platforms and at numerous events. A proud Marine Corps veteran, he received two meritorious promotions during his service. He and his wife, Bethany, have two adult daughters and six grandchildren. He resides in Nashville, Tennessee.
