After MTSU's men's basketball team was snubbed by the NCAA tournament committee and they laid the smack down on Vermont in the first round of the NIT, rumors started about how coach Kermit Davis may have a new job soon.
The DNJ reported that Davis will be named as the next coach of the Ole Miss Rebels.
Then Thursday morning, Ole Miss made the rumors official with a tweet.
Davis has coached the Blue Raiders since 2002. Over the last seven seasons, the team has gone 179-61 with three NCAA tournament appearances, including one of the biggest upsets in tournament history.
Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy announced Feb. 12 he is stepping down.
