Murfreesboro City Schools Music Festival set to perform March 9

Music teachers and over 300 students from Murfreesboro City Schools will be participating in the annual MCS Music Festival concert Friday, March 9th. The free performance begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Cason Lane Academy gymnasium.

Students and teachers will perform as part of Music in Our Schools Month. Music in Our Schools Month engages music educators, students, and communities from around the country in promoting the benefits of high-quality music education programs in schools.

The combined choir includes students from each of the twelve MCS schools. The concert will also include John Pittard’s Steel de Boro and Northfield’s African Drumming Ensemble.

The evening promises to be a spectacular event showcasing the talent of MCS students.

With its unique focus on pre-kindergarten through sixth-grade learning, Murfreesboro City Schools is creating a vision that embodies the highest levels of collaboration, professionalism, and excellence.
