Special Kids' 2020-2021 Featured Child Lourdess Nedd

Members of the Special Kids Therapy & Nursing Center development team have announced Lourdess Nedd as their next "featured child" for the 2020 - 2021 season.

The "featured child" is selected annually as means to represent the nonprofit's mission: "serving Jesus Christ by caring for his children". Lourdess's progress and development under the care of Special Kids staff and therapy team represents just a fraction of the many wondrous acts happening on campus every day.

Lourdess's story and experiences at Special Kids will be showcased through a number of avenues, beginning with the banquet program which will include a video highlighting her exemplification of the theme of "Brave". Lourdess's mother and father, Alicia and Hamlet, are also featured in the newest episode of "His Children", a podcast by Special Kids which can be found following the link below.

Below you can find more from Lourdess's story and why she was selected by reading an excerpt from the "featured child" story:

Lourdess first arrived to campus in 2014, just months after she was born. As she's dropped off and picked up from the nursing center five days a week, she's become one of the "favorite faces" of Special Kids staff; whether for her irresistible laugh or her love of telling jokes. A recipient of multiple treatment programs, including physical, occupational, and feeding therapies, Lourdess has made a habit of setting new milestones, and accomplishing her goals.

Among her many fans, Lourdess' parents have big dreams for their daughter. They know someday soon their daughter will be able to walk; and that her spirit of courage will inspire more than she'll ever realize. Out of the countless miracles that have happened on the Special Kids campus, they know many more lie ahead for Lourdess."
