The City Schools Foundation is proud to announce that over $63,000 has been awarded to teachers for the 2018-2019 school year.

Seventeen grants were selected out of 63 grant applications. These grants are focused in the areas of science, technology, engineering, art, and math.

Funded grants ranged from $264 to $9,999 with five grants receiving over $6,600 in disbursements.

"The creativity of grant requests this year allows our committee to preview all of the new TN programs that are growing and expanding throughout the state. It’s inspiring to see how teachers are using hands-on learning opportunities to enhance the classroom. The range of requests from technology and science to the arts were outstanding and there is nothing more exciting than funding these requests allowing them to blossom and take shape," says Kevin Grisham, City Schools Grant Committee Chair.

This year’s grant-winning proposals range from robots and coding to music and agriculture.
