From the Randy Allen for County Mayor Campagin:

Republican Candidate for County Mayor, Randy Allen believes that it's time to put Rutherford County first and be proactive on core issues.

By being accountable to taxpayers and attracting more employers with diverse job opportunities, Randy feels he can minimize the burdens of growth on the residents of our community.

During his career in workforce development and as a non-profit executive, he identified opportunities for moving Rutherford County forward as we experience unprecedented growth.

That is why Randy resigned as Director of Community Impact for United Way and is seeking to become the next Mayor of Rutherford County.

“It’s my belief that one-size-fits-all solutions are not the best way to resolve the complex quality of life issues that families and individuals are facing,” said Allen. “It will take a conscious, collaborative effort to make sure that the population growth will ensure prosperity for all residents.”

Randy Allen’s previous experience in budget oversight, workforce development and small business supervision uniquely qualify him for the position of Rutherford County Mayor.

It is his goal to build a high level of trust in our local government by providing accountability, open access and transparency.

“I am committed to addressing the concerns of the many teachers, government employees, public safety workers, businesses and other residents that continue to reach out to me” said Allen. A plan to address infrastructure, education and job growth are his top priorities.

Infrastructure: Rutherford County’s population is projected to double in the next 15 years and with the greater population will come additional stress on existing infrastructure and a need for increased capacity. A proactive plan that addresses needed repair and identifies opportunities for economic and educational growth is critical for Rutherford County.

Randy Allen proposes to strengthen existing relationships with key stakeholders in our community to implement a comprehensive plan to replace, upgrade, and build new roads and schools. He will work diligently to expand broadband Internet throughout the county. Focusing on these improvements will strengthen our community.

Education: Families love Rutherford County because of the great education system available here. It’s vital that the school systems adapt to the changing landscape to remain competitive when recruiting high-quality teachers, addressing extraordinary growth and preparing students for future success.

Randy Allen will encourage efforts to engage parents and support teachers and administrators in identifying concerns and opportunities. He will build consensus around successful resolutions so our students can reach their full potential in a safe environment.

Good Jobs: Rutherford County has over 50,000 people who leave each day to work in other areas of our state. Randy believes people should be able to have work where they live. He has led efforts with local businesses, industry, manufacturing and the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce to bridge the gap between employers, educators and employees. He has also worked directly with individuals in Rutherford County to identify training resources and obtain the credentials needed to achieve a higher standard of living for themselves and their families.

Randy Allen’s plan begins with promoting economic growth, supporting efforts to attract good jobs and partnering with education providers to address the needs of current employers. Increasing desirable skill sets and providing opportunities for residents to obtain those skills, will make Rutherford County more attractive to businesses seeking opportunities to relocate or expand.

“If we want something different, we have to do something different,” Randy Allen said.

He has a vision for putting Rutherford County first when making decisions and improving the quality of life for all. Allen is not a career politician. He is a concerned citizen with a servant’s heart and a resume that uniquely qualifies him to lead our county.

“It’s time for a new approach to leadership and a renewed trust in government,” Allen said. Early voting continues through April 26 for the Republican Primary with the Election day on May 1.
