Two men wanted for unrelated out-of-state murder charges were apprehended Monday in Rutherford County, authorities with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office said.

Suspect Jesus Najera, 34, of Nashville was wanted on a capital murder charge in Mississippi, said Rutherford County Sheriff’s Detective Chuck Thomas, who is assigned to the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force.

In an unrelated case, suspect Paige Terrell Lawyer was apprehended Sunday evening on a capital murder charge from Texas, Thomas said.

Lawyer was located Sunday at Butterfly Bend in Murfreesboro by U.S. Marshals, Murfreesboro Police and Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.

In the Mississippi case, U.S. Marshals in Mississippi notified U.S. Marshals in Middle Tennessee Monday about Najera being in Rutherford County, Thomas said.

Marshals and Rutherford County Sheriff’s deputies located Najera Monday afternoon at apartments off Joe B. Jackson Parkway.

Both Najera and Lawyer were charged with being fugitives from justice. They are being held without bond in Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.

Hearings are set April 12 for Lawyer and April 19 for Najera in General Sessions Court.
