Less than a week after finding a woman dead outside, the Murfreesboro Police Department has found a second, according to a press release.

MPD identified the woman as Carol Brandon, 64, of Murfreesboro.

Officers are currently investigating her death and how she came to be found in a wooded area next to Blackman Elementary school on Fortress Boulevard.

"Mrs. Brandon has a previous history with our department relating to mental health issues and disappearing from her home for periods of time. She had last left her home on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018," MPD spokeswoman Amy Norville said.

Norville said previously the cause of death is unknown, but there were no signs of foul play. Toxicology results are pending.

"The investigation is ongoing. It is believed she had no connection to the school," Norville said.
