Joe Carr demonstrated strong support in a new poll about the race for Mayor of Rutherford County.
The poll was conducted with 455 likely voters in Rutherford County, TN from January 19th through January 21st 2022. Key findings include: • In response to the question, “If the election for Mayor of Rutherford County was held today and the candidates were Rhonda Allen, Joe Carr, and Bill Ketron, who would you vote for?”, respondent chose:
1. Joe Carr (31.7%)
2. Bill Ketron (15.6%)
3. Rhonda Allen (11.3%).
Amongst poll respondents, support for Joe Carr was more than support for Bill Ketron and Rhonda Allen combined. Still, a very substantial percentage of respondents, 41.3%, were undecided at the time that the poll was conducted.
Poll respondents gave insight into the issues that will affect their vote as well: 92.1% of respondents, when asked “Some past and current elected officials have been caught and fined for violating the public trust through deceptive and unlawful business practices. How important is it to you to restore ethical and lawful leadership to Rutherford County?”, answered that it is very important to them.
That showed that ethical leadership is a leading issue in the race.
Addressing the odor and water quality issues associated with the Middle Point Landfill, located in the northern part of Rutherford County, was also a high priority for respondents, with 76.3% saying that it was very important to them and an additional 18.3% saying that it was at least somewhat important to them.
82.2% of respondents viewed ensuring that county infrastructure is paid for in a fair and equitable way as a high priority, and 84.4% said that improving county roads is a high priority.
High-quality curriculum and facilities for K-12 schools was also asked about, and 70.1% of respondents viewed that as a high priority.
