College student Eli Certain is 'The Little Engine That Can'

College student Eli Certain donated more than 1,200 pounds of food to her college’s student pantry Wednesday at Motlow. Certain stated when walking on campus she would see the panty empty and she knew there was something she could do to make a difference, and she acted upon her beautiful nature and make change happen.

Certain reached out to Feed America First, an organization that receives donations from large corporations and divides them among smaller organizations.  Certain then rented a moving tuck, pick up the items and delivered to Smyrna to the college campus.

This is a perfect example of the little engine and could.  This college student took it upon herself to make change.  She set a goal and made it happen.

It is truly a beautiful day when young people step up to make their community better.

If you are interested in donating items to Motlow State, below are the drop locations on each of the school’s campuses.

  • Smyrna: Cafe Kiosk, Hiatt-Spivey Building
  • Moore County: Student Activity and Resource Center, Forrester Building
  • McMinnville: In front of One-Stop
  • Fayetteville: In front of One-Stop
