A Favorite Thanksgiving Tradition: Winning the annual Turkey Tee Off

"The golfers that played in the Turkey Tee Off said this is one of their favorite Thanksgiving traditions,” said Child Advocacy Center Development Coordinator Katie Enzor. “This year we were blessed with a beautiful sunny day, weather in the 60’s, the leaves changing colors at Cedar Crest golf course, and an amazing group of golfers.” 

The golf tournament was held last Saturday with the support of loyal sponsors: Altimate Controls, Clarksville Auto Auction, Don Clayton, CRF Properties, Farrer Bros. Hardware, Josh Hawkins, Middle Tennessee Electric, My Team Insurance Services, Patterson Family, David Puckett, Redstone Federal Credit Union, U.S. Community Credit Union, Waldron, Fann & Parsley Attorneys at Law, and Wilson Bank & Trust. 

“We are grateful for our sponsors, tee box sponsors, and the outstanding Turkey Tee Off planning committee of Chase Fann, Chase Patterson, and TJ Patterson,” said Child Advocacy Center director Sharon De Boer. “The COVID-19 pandemic has been a tough time financially for non-profit agencies. Local community support is helping us continue to provide critically needed services to child abuse victims and their families.”

Golfers enjoyed delicious Chick-fil-A chicken biscuits before teeing off at 9 a.m. After the round of golf, the teams were treated to local favorite Slick Pig BBQ. The silent auction prize winners may claim their prizes by calling the Child Advocacy Center at (615) 867-9000. 

Turkey Tee Off Winners: 

Fletcher’s Team of Justin Cowley, Donald Fletcher, Ed Hennesee, and Mickey Hopkins took home first place of $200 with a score of 56.  

The second-place team with a prize of $160 was the Brooks Team. The golfers on the second-place team were Sam Aton, Mark Brooks, John Morrissey, and Dale Peters, with a score of 56. 

The third-place team was Clarksville Auto Auction winning a prize of $100. The third-place team golfers were Josh Curtis, Trey Hunter, Bennie Mc Coy, and Tracy Young, with a score of 56.  

The contest winners were: 

  • The “Men’s Longest Drive” on Hole 5 was Dale Peters. 
  • The “Women’s Longest Drive” on Hole 5 was Kelsey Spies. 
  • Drew Fann won the “Closest to the Pin” on Hole 3. 
  • Gordon Black won the putting contest, with a putt off of 36 inches from the hole. 
  • Stuard Connell had the winning ticket in the 50/50 contest winning a jackpot of $138. 

"Congratulations to all of our winners!" concluded tournament chairman Chase Fann. "We had an excellent turnout, fantastic weather, and are already looking forward to next year.”
