Are you struggling with how to pray for all the many sick and suffering people in this your one life? Are you wondering if you should stop everything and pray for the sick tigers and lions or are you just puzzled as to how to pray for your own sick self? We all need to spend time praying for sick folks, family and friends, but when we are on our sick-bed, we need to be able to relate to someone who was sick and successfully prayed for themselves. We can find this someone and his prayer story in 2 Kings Chapter 20, his name is Hezekiah.

When you're sick: pray like Hezekiah.

Hezekiah was the King of Judah. Hezekiah's name can be found in at least 10 books of the Old Testament. To put this detail into more modern terms, would mean: Hezekiah's name would have at least 10 credits rolling down major movie screens across America. The word Hezekiah means the Lord strengthens.

When you're sick: pray like Hezekiah.

There's a lot that goes on in Hezekiah's life before 2 Kings Chapter 20 and there's a lot that goes on in his life after 2 Kings Chapter 20 but for right now, for today we are focusing on 2nd Kings 20.

It's sad and unfortunate, but in the days of 2 Kings Chapter 20, Hezekiah was sick unto death and the prophet Isaiah was the one assigned by the Lord to deliver the get your business in order type of news.

When you're sick: pray like Hezekiah.

But, after receiving the news, Hezekiah turned his face to the wall, and prayed and this fervent prayer was heard by the Lord. And the Lord, not only delivered Hezekiah from his sickness, but he also added 15 years to his life.

In this fervent prayer Hezekiah recounts to the Lord, his walk of truth, the condition of his heart, and the good he had done in sight of the Lord. And before Isaiah could exit the property the Lord came to him saying ... turn around and tell Hezekiah, I have heard his prayer!

Are you puzzled as how to more successfully, pray for your own sickness? Then, please consider personally developing the ten steps to start praying like Hezekiah listed below:

  1. An authentic relationship with the Godhead
  2. A receptive disposition of the reality of truth
  3. Belief we are praying to the only one who has the ability and power to fix it

  5. The ability to turn away (toward Jesus) from the World toward the wall in prayer

  7. Expect and receive almost immediate supernatural healing
  8. Be prepared with your request of evidence of healing
  9. Be healed and allowed to once again worship in the temple
