A Murfreesboro man and woman have been arrested and charged with a string of commercial business burglaries that occurred over three months.

Jalen Ellison, 25, was taken into custody by uniformed officers after a traffic stop at Maymont Drive and East Clark Blvd. around 1:58 a.m., Friday, Nov. 22.  The car Ellison was driving matched the description of a vehicle that was at the scene of several of the burglaries.

As officers were conducting the traffic stop, 20-year-old Kayla Lyons arrived riding a bicycle. Lyons matched the description of a female captured on video at several of the burglaries. She was also taken into custody.

"I want to personally thank Midnight Patrol, Directed Patrol and CID Property detectives for their hard work and willingness to work additional hours in getting these two individuals into custody," said CID Detective Tommy Massey. "Being able to get them off the streets is a testament to the hard work done by our officers and detectives."

  • Six-counts of Burglary
