Charity Circle Tailgate Party

Get out your favorite spirit wear and mark your playbooks for the annual Charity Circle Tailgate Party on Friday, Sept. 20, from 6-9 p.m. This party is in no parking lot but rather the picturesque Riverview home of Blue Jay Dr. George Lien and Commodore Lynn Lien.

Blue Raiders, Volunteers, Tigers, Golden Eagles, Mustangs, ‘Dores and even Terrier fans are invited to enjoy the poolside tailgate feast of barbecue, coleslaw, baked beans as well as other traditional tailgate treats and libations. No matter the team, party-goers are huddling together and sprinting towards the same goal line to support Rutherford County neighbors through fundraising efforts to assist food, clothing, shelter and medicine insecurity needs.

"The Tailgate Party has always been one of my favorite parties of the year," said event chair Volunteer Beth Cope. "It’s a wonderful kickoff to fall and the football season while teaming up to help those who need a step-up."

Party hosts include: Amy and Kent Ayer, Beth and Tracey Binkley, Melanie and Jimmy Bishop, Sydney and Jim Boerner, Beth and Evan Cope, Debbie and Jim Cope, Meagan Flippin, Lindsey Fournier, Susan and Wade Gaither, Ashley and Mark Hardison, Rachel and Chad Haynes, Pallie and David Jones, Caroline and Travis Lampley, Lynn and George Lien, Patty and John Marschel, Stacey and Laws McCullough, Jo and John Morris, Mary and Max Moss, MaryAnn and Allen Richardson, Susan Sanders, Joyce Taylor, Libby and Chris Taylor, Peggy and Dickie Thomas, and Mary and Tim White.

Charity Circle of Murfreesboro distributes funds quarterly to nine ongoing Rutherford County nonprofits: Child Advocacy Center, Community Helpers of Rutherford County, Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault, Doors of Hope, Good Shepherd Children's Home, Ann Campbell Early Learning Center, NOURISH Food Bank, Special Kids Therapy & Nursing Center, and The Journey Home. Twenty-seven other local agencies received funds in 2018 through Charity Circle’s Special Request grant process.
