Vanderbilt’s First Coding Boot Camp

Vanderbilt University's first coding boot camp graduated giving Middle Tennessee another batch of professionals who can fill the need for web developers, data analysts, and cybersecurity professionals.

The innovative boot camp is giving Middle Tennesseans an opportunity to learn a growing and valuable skill that could potentially lead to a job in the tech industry. Preston Sparks, son of State Rep. Mike Sparks, R-Smyrna, also graduated, the representative said.

The 24-week computer coding camp is an innovative partnership between Vanderbilt University and Trilogy Education Services.

According to Vanderbilt University, students learned front-end and back-end technologies, such as HTML5 and JavaScript, while also benefiting from a wide set of career services like resume support and technical interview preparation.

"I'm excited to see Preston and these other students graduate and want to thank Vanderbilt for providing this educational opportunity here in Middle Tennessee," Rep. Sparks said.

The skills-based training program is designed for web developers, data analysts, and cybersecurity professionals. Learn more about Vanderbilt University's coding boot camp here: https://bootcamps.vanderbilt.edu/coding/
