The Lit Wits book group invites the public to join them for a special guest author eventat 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28 at Linebaugh Public Library.

Michael Bishop, author of A Murder in Music City (Prometheus Books, 2017) will be sharing his work during this free event in the 2nd floor Reading Room at the library.

A Murder in Music City tells the story of a private citizen who discovers compelling evidence that a decades-old murder in Nashville was not committed by the man who went to prison for the crime but was the result of a conspiracy involving elite members of Nashville society.

Now, for the very first time, Bishop reveals the true story.

In this true-crime page-turner, the author lays out compelling evidence that a circle of powerful citizens were key participants in the crime and the subsequent cover-up.

The ne'er-do-well judge's son, who was falsely accused and sent to prison, proved to be the perfect setup man. The perpetrators used his checkered history to conceal the real facts for over half a century.

The Lit Wits book group meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm and welcomes new members to their small, informal group, where you’ll always find lively discussion with fellow book lovers.

Following the talk, the author will be signing and selling the books for $15/each. Cash and checks accepted.

Bishop was born in Gadsden, Ala., and had the good fortune to grow up on a small farm nearby on Sand Mountain. He is a graduate of Freed Hardeman University and earned a Master's degree from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville. When not working with hospitals and academic health systems around the country, he is at work on his next book.
