Middle Tennessee Head Men's Basketball Coach Nick McDevitt and the Blue Raider men's hoops squad are set to host "Tailgate with Nick Before the Kick," a preseason intrasquad scrimmage on Friday, Nov. 2, prior to the Blue Raider football team's 7 p.m. kickoff against rival WKU.

Men's basketball will begin practice inside Murphy Center at 4:30 p.m. and McDevitt and his staff are inviting all fans to join the team from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for the scrimmage to preview the 2018-19 Blue Raiders.

McDevitt will be mic'd up during the scrimmage as he continues to prepare his team for its season opener.

"There are a lot of new faces in our program this season, so we are looking forward to giving our fans the opportunity to meet this group of young men before the season tips," McDevitt said.

In addition to getting a sneak peek of the men's basketball team, fans will also be able to enjoy tailgate food provided by the MT Athletic Department and free inflatables for children on the Murphy Center concourse as well as a post-scrimmage autograph session with the Blue Raiders.

"We are very excited about this event and I think it will be a really fun day for families to come enjoy Blue Raider basketball and football all in one," McDevitt added.

The Blue Raiders open the season on Tuesday, Nov. 6, with a 6:30 p.m. tipoff against Lees-McRae in Murphy Center.
