Tangerine Salon and Spa, in partnership with area salons, presented United We Style, an elevated hair show and storytelling event, on Thursday, June 21 at Main Street Music in downtown Murfreesboro.

Using the Beatles-inspired theme of “Come Together Now,” UWS featured stylists from Tangerine, What's New Salon, Rooster's Men’s Grooming Center, and The Social Chair created hairstyles live on stage as professional storytellers and community leaders performed short stories based on their community involvement and life experiences. Local musician Jonny Gowow provided the night’s musical stylings.

Featured storytellers included Kara Kemp, actress and Ringmaster of Tangerine Salon, and Kory Wells, inaugural poet laureate of Murfreesboro and founder of Poetry in the Boro.

Presenting community leaders include Ynetia Avant, principal of Kittrell Elementary; Chase Salas, agent for Elite Insurance Solutions; and Kathy Ferrell, executive director of Red Cross Heart of Tennessee Chapter.
