This selection is critical because it will affect the seamless coverage of Wi-Fi and optimal performance. First, find the names of the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks of the primary router. Opt for the 5GHz band if possible, as it transmits at a faster speed; however, this depends on your device's ability to support this band. Avoid hidden SSIDs because they make the extender's setup complicated. For an optimal configuration, when your router supports broadcasting multiple SSIDs for each band, say for "MyNetwork_2G" and "MyNetwork_5G", choose the corresponding SSID for the extender.
