Riverdale High School students, faculty and staff raised about $40,000 Friday in memory of Little Warrior Princess Leah Smallwood.

This is the fifth year they raised money in Leah’s honor for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to conquer childhood cancer.

Leah lost her battle with cancer last year.

Principal Ryan Nance, who also had his head shaved, said he wanted his school to be top shelf.

“That is phenomenal for a high school,” Nance said. “This is another great example of what we do. Five years ago we wouldn’t have expected this.”

He thanked more than 100 people who donated to shave their heads, the stylists and barbers, students and volunteers and Coach Lamar Davis and Teacher Caron Peck who coordinated the fund-raiser.
