Country singer/songwriter Craig Campbell announced the inaugural benefit concert, scheduled for July 24 at the Ryman Auditorium, in honor of his father, that will raise funds and awareness for colorectal cancer.
For the past 11 years, Craig Campbell has hosted a celebrity cornhole contest that has raised thousands of dollars for the Kenny Campbell Foundation following the loss of his father at the young age of 36. This will be the first year for the country singer to host a benefit concert.
Campbell explained, "My parents divorced when I was a baby. I was there with him every other weekend. We had a relationship, but I didn't know him that well. I was 11 when he died, and I just thought he was old and old people passed away. But as I got older and started having kids, I realized that he wasn't old at all. The passion was to figure out what took him away from me and make sure that my girls don't have to go through it."
Colorectal cancer is an aggressive type of cancer that develops in the colon or rectum. It's often called colon cancer, even though it can affect either the colon or the rectum. Screening tests like colonoscopies can detect precancerous polyps, allowing for their removal before they turn cancerous.
This year, Bradley Gaskin (Mr. Bartender) will join Craig Campbell as they host the benefit concert at the Ryman Auditorium on July 24. Campbell said of Gaskin, "We are kindred spirits; we love country music and grew up on 90s country."
Gaskin stated, "I'm honored to share the Ryman stage with Craig for a special night of music, Nashville Style, as well as to help raise more money and awareness for The Kenny Campbell Foundation in honor of his dad. The feeling of the Ryman…. Ain't no grander stage to perform on, in my opinion."
Besides Campbell and Gaskin, country star and social media sensation Tayler Holder has been added to the lineup and will be joining Michael Ray, Bryan White, and Hailey Benedict.
A limited number of VIP tickets are currently available for $175 and include an exclusive two-song acoustic set performed by Campbell and Gaskin 30 minutes before doors open, a show poster, and a photo with them on the famous Ryman stage. A guitar signed by all of the artists will be auctioned to the highest bidder during the concert.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for the concert by contacting Maddy Gross at maddy@maddogmgmt.com.
Craig Campbell is known for his 90s country-styled songs, including the massive hits "Outskirts of Heaven," "Fish," and "Keep Them Kisses Comin'." He stays true to his signature sound with the release of his latest single, "Missing You."
Additionally, Craig and Mindy Campbell own and operate the Grindstone Cowboy coffee shop, restaurant, and music venue in Eagleville, Tennessee, and have recently added a food truck to their offerings. They will open a second location in Shelbyville later this fall.
