Must See Movie of the Week: Cry Macho

This week's Must See Movie of the Week is Cry Macho.

Clint Eastwood still has it at 91; staring as the lead, directing, and music, a must-see movie for any Eastwood fan. I was little concerned about where this flick may be going only at one moment, but was very surprised.

There was a missing opportunity with one scene in the film where Eastwood must change his clothing to blend in, and I was awaiting an appearance in a Mexican poncho, cheroot clinched in his teeth, and the wailing trumpet with hand on mute making the iconic wah, wah, wahhhh, score from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly by Morricone

Alas, that didn’t happen, but that would have been seriously awesome.

This is an endearing film going back to his cowboy roots with a positive message.  A must-see, family friendly, and pure Eastwood magnificence.

Cry Macho is a 2021 American neo-Western drama film directed and produced by Clint Eastwood. Adapted by Nick Schenk, it is based on the 1975 novel of the same name by N. Richard Nash. The plot follows a former rodeo star who is hired to reunite a young man in Mexico with his father in the United States.

You can watch it on HBO Max.
