The Arrowhead Boys Ranch wants to thank the community for the great turnout at its first July 4th Independence Day celebration.

"We were pleasantly surprised that 375 people - mostly families - celebrated with us on Saturday, July 4th," Director and Co-Founder, Jeff Sweeney said. "Given the uncertain times we're all living in, we didn't know what to expect, but we literally had to shut down online tickets sales before the event so that we wouldn't run out of food. While everyone practiced smart social distancing and many were wearing masks - especially the elderly and those at-risk, that didn't slow down the fun everyone enjoyed."

Sweeney said it was a beautiful day with kids playing in the fields, families spreading blankets and enjoying the music, food and fireworks.

"Our 30-minute booming fireworks display lit up the night sky on the Duck River and let everyone know that we love our country," he said.

Sweeney also gave a special thanks to the sponsors, vendors and volunteers:

• Chase Clanton and the Vintage Vibes
• Normandy Volunteer Fire Department
• Normandy Police Department
• Dipping Dots
• Fireworks donated by Kyle & Jeff Wohlgemuth & Jeff Sweeney
• Hot Dogs and Buns donated by Piggly Wiggly, Shelbyville
• Desserts donated by Kroger, Tullahoma
