First Tennessee Bank, member of the First Horizon National Corp. (NYSE:FHN) family of companies, which includes Capital Bank, has announced it expanded its trust division with the opening of a new office in Nashville.

To oversee the operation, First Tennessee has appointed Stephen Russell as senior vice president, head of trust and estate administration for the Middle Tennessee Region. The appointment is a return home for the Nashville-area native.

"This new trust office marks another step forward in the continued expansion of our company in Middle Tennessee to serve the needs of our clients," said First Tennessee's Middle Tennessee President, Carol Yochem. "With his success in building trust and estate teams, Stephen is the right person to represent First Tennessee in this growing area of the wealth management industry and build on our company's legacy of integrity and strong client stewardship."

Russell previously was vice president and senior trust officer in First Tennessee's Knoxville office. He joined the bank in 2015 and has been in the wealth management industry since 2010, serving as an estate planning advisor, financial planner and attorney.

He received his J.D. and MBA from the University of Memphis and is a certified financial planner, certified trust and financial advisor and certified retirement counselor.

First Tennessee Bank's trust division is the largest among all banks headquartered in Tennessee with assets under administration totaling $22 billion.
