Ronnie Gandy presents Alissa Shear a donation of $1,000

Alissa Shear, assistant director, CASA of Rutherford County, presented the program at The Exchange Club of Murfreesboro's June 4.

Shear explained the process of training and serving as a CASA volunteer. The organization that advocates for abused or neglected children. Too many children in the child welfare system lose their families, their rights and their hopes.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is seeking volunteers. Today 60 percent of the children in the system have no access to a CASA Volunteer. That is almost 400,000 children nationwide without the hope a CASA volunteer can bring. Contact casaofrutherfordcounty.org for more information, and on Facebook.

For more information about The National Exchange Club visit NationalExchangeClub.org or visit The Exchange Club of Murfreesboro on Facebook. The local Club was chartered in 1951.

The Exchange Club has as its national project the prevention of child abuse and neglect. In the photo above, Club President Ronnie Gandy presents Alissa Shear a donation of $1,000, as part of their prevention of child abuse project.
