On Friday, May 17, at approximately 7:23 a.m., Murfreesboro Police Officers responded to a single vehicle crash in the 400 block of Kings Ridge Drive. 

The preliminary investigation revealed that a pickup truck veered off the road and struck a tree line.  The unresponsive driver was evaluated on the scene by Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services and Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department personnel before being transported to the Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver has been identified as John Goad, 69, of Murfreesboro. 

The crash is under investigation by the F.A.C.T. (Fatal Accident Crash Team).
