Victims identified in 2 Murfreesboro shootings

On Monday, May 6, at approximately 12:43 a.m., Murfreesboro Police Officers responded to Sam’s Sports Grill, 1720 Old Fort Parkway, to a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male had been shot inside a vehicle.

The victim in the shooting has been identified as Daniel Lee McCracken, 34, of Battle Creek, Michigan.

McCracken was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.

Investigators interviewed witnesses trying to determine motive. The investigation is on-going.

HANCOCK STREET SHOOTING

Approximately 25-minutes later (1:08 a.m.), officers responded to a report of an unrelated shooting at the corner of Hancock Street and Minor Street.

A male victim was shot. He was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.

The victim was identified as Darnell Lamar Mayer, 48, of Murfreesboro.

Currently, there is no motive nor suspect. This investigation is also on-going.
