Middle Tennessee's schedule will have a different look as the Blue Raiders will face four first-time football foes in 2019.

The Blue Raiders will face three non-conference foes for the first time in program history, as well as one Conference USA opponent for the first time, as part of the 2019 football schedule.

The Blue Raiders' 2019 slate is being jointly announced today by Conference USA and Middle Tennessee Director of Athletics Chris Massaro.

The Blue Raiders' 105th season of football includes home dates with ACC member Duke, the renewal of in-state rival Tennessee State and Conference USA dates against Marshall, FIU, Rice and Old Dominion.

The roads contests include Michigan, Iowa, Florida Atlantic, North Texas, Charlotte and WKU.

It is important to note that all games are subject to date changes and some dates are expected to move in the coming weeks on order to accommodate national television. A schedule of televised games will be released at a later date.

The Blue Raiders will be playing two Big Ten members for the first time and both are expected to open in the 2019 Preseason Top 25. Middle Tennessee faces Michigan for the first time in program history in the opener, and it also has a date with first-time foe Iowa later in September.

Middle Tennessee's two non-conference home games will provide a treat for fans. ACC member Duke is on the schedule for the first time and will play at Floyd Stadium, Sept. 14.

The Blue Raiders play former Ohio Valley Conference rival Tennessee State in the home opener. It marks the first game against Tennessee State since 1998 when the Blue Raiders played the Tigers for the first game in the newly-renovated Floyd Stadium.

In all, Middle Tennessee will face six teams which played in bowl games in 2018 including its first two C-USA home opponents in Marshall and FIU. Michigan, Duke, Iowa and North Texas were also in bowl games last season.

When Rice visits Floyd Stadium it will mark the Owls' first-ever game against Middle Tennessee.
