Real Estate: Selling large tracts of land set stage for spring building

Nov 08, 2018 at 10:00 am by Michelle Willard

The main real estate story in October isn't a single sale. Instead, it is the cumulative sale of large tracks of land.

From Smyrna River of Life church selling five acres in Smyrna to George White and Ira Brody selling more 30 acres in Murfreesboro, most of the largest transactions in October were individuals selling what will presumably become subdivisions in the spring to development companies.

Also, undeveloped subdivided lots are still changing hands.

All this together tells me that the residential market is still healthy even if the third quarter did show a slight decline (2%) in closed sales and a significant decline (31%) in pending sales over 2017 across the midstate, according to data from Greater Nashville Realtors
