Bob, along with his wife Jean, moved to Murfreesboro about four years ago from Michigan.

Their reason is heard often, to be close to their kids. In this case, son Don, daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren. Another son and daughter both live in Florida.

The Potters started attending First Presbyterian Church and heard about volunteering opportunities at Read To Succeed. After inquiring more about the program, Bob decided to sign up for training and before long had one adult learner. Then Adult Literacy Coordinator Carolynn Kobiske called with another opportunity and Bob was then working with two great gentlemen.

In addition to enjoying time with family, Bob and Jean enjoy exercising at the community centers, attending studies at First Presbyterian and socializing with new friends. The Potters also enjoy exploring the many new attractions Middle Tennessee has to offer, such as parks, theater and events at MTSU.

Bob is a wonderful volunteer/mentor. He was the recipient of the Read To Succeed Tutor of the Year award this year.
