Murfreesboro's newest and likely largest self-storage facility is called Red Carpet because they go the extra mile to give their tenants everything they need and a few things they probably never thought they needed.

Located on John Rice Boulevard, Red Carpet Self Storage opened at the first of April and measures 99,600 square feet. The facility has 817 units on three floors in a variety of sizes from 25 square feet to 300 square feet.

It's so big it takes Facility Manager Lisa Sterle more than an hour to do a complete walk-through.

"I get my steps in for sure," she said.

Most of the units are climate controlled, but it has self storage on the ground floor that is accessible from the outside and is not climate controlled.

"People think we have stairs but we have elevators," Sterle said, adding they even keep dollies near all the entrances to help clients save their muscles.

Sterle said Red Carpet is aptly named because it is more than a storage facility. Red Carpet is focused on maintaining a safe, clean and secure facility with an emphasis on customer service.

It also offers clients U-Haul rentals, boxes and moving supplies, work space with free wifi, a free conference room and even cookies.

"Tenants just have to call and reserve the conference room," Sterle said, adding several companies use the facility for product storage and meeting space.

"We aren't just for people with too much stuff in the garage," she said.

The one thing Sterle's fellow facility manager Tom Johnson finds most impressive is the security.

The facility offers coded access from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. and the main office is open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturdays.

It also boasts 32 motion-activated, high-res surviellance cameras. The cameras are so good, he pointed out a guy sitting on his motorcycle in the parking lot.

"He's texting," Johnson said, adding he could see the model of the guy's bike and phone on the screen.

Sterle said she knows Red Carpet isn't for everyone so she'll even help clients find a storage facility that will meet their needs.

Vibe Nutrition has new owners

Two couples out of Oklahoma have taken the place occupied by Karen and Zach Stafford at Vibe Nutrition off the Square.

Kelli & Jimmy Jarman and Mykah & Alex Rolison are the new owners of the smoothie shop.

Vibe Nutrition offers protien-packed smoothies made with Herbalife supplements along with metabolism-boosting teas as a healthy meal replacement.

The Jarmans and Rolisons ran Herbalife nutrition shops in Tulsa, Ok., but recently relocated to the midstate.

"For months we’ve been looking at all the towns around Nashville and once we found Murfreesboro we knew that’s where we were supposed to be," they said in a Facebook post.

The shop will be closed June 22 and 23 for training but they said they look forward to serving Murfreesboro and help make it a little healthier, one smoothie at a time.
