The Murfreesboro Noon Exchange Club closed the books on the 10th annual Flags of Remembrance Healing Field on Monday evening.

More than 800 large American flags, on eight-foot tall staffs, spent Memorial Day weekend flying row on row at First Methodist Church, 265 W. Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro.

Lou Galterio, "The Golden Voice," performed at the closing ceremony. Galterio is known for his amazing and moving rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Taps was also played.

The Murfreesboro Healing Field display is a gift to the community made possible through donations, sponsorships and the efforts of dedicated volunteers.

Proceeds benefit the youth, community service and Americanism projects of the Noon Exchange Club whose National Project is the Prevention of Child Abuse, including its local outreach through The Family Center.
