Gifts of Christ and Criminal Minds – The One And Only Jesus

Last night, I almost added another gift to the Christmas gift bag.

Yes, you heard me right, I did not stutter. My little family has yet to have Christmas. We’ve yet to sit down or gather together as a family to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

You see our family has been divided since February 2015. And like Bey, these days I’m singing "I ain't sorry."

Jesus said it would be this way. Jesus said He himself would be the dividing force. He said this more than 2,000 years ago as He walked this earth fully man and fully God. Jesus said and Doctor Luke reports details.

Jesus said, “Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth, No I tell you but rather division.” Luke 12:51

Jesus divides to multiply His Kingdom.

This is His end goal!

Only Jesus divides then multiplies.

Yes, Jesus is a mathematician.

He simply divides to multiply.

Let’s take the woman at the well for example ... She was alone with Jesus at the well.

When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?”

(His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.) John 4:7 (KJV)

After some time alone with Jesus at the well, the woman forgot what she thought she came to the well for. We know this because she leaves the well without her water jug.

Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” They came out of the town and made their way toward him. John 4:28-30 (KJV)

Jesus divides to multiply His Kingdom.

This is His end goal!

Only Jesus divides then multiplies.

What about Nicodemus?

Nicodemus came to Jesus in the dark of night, Alone.

He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” John 3:2

What about the Royal official?

Jesus directed the royal official to go and your son will live. The Royal official later found his son at home alive.

The royal official said, “Sir, come down before my child dies.” “Go,” Jesus replied, “your son will live.” The man took Jesus at his word and departed. While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living. John 49-51

The Other Criminal

Jesus divides to multiply His Kingdom.

Jesus divides to multiply His Kingdom and not even the promise of death nor prayer on the cross kept Him from going there ...

This is His end goal!

Only Jesus divides then multiplies.

The force of His divinity divided even the two criminals on the cross into two camps.

Criminal Minds

One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”

But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”

Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom
Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Only Christ and the criminal prayed on a cross on a hill called Calvary.

Jesus divides to multiply His Kingdom and not even the promise of death nor prayer on the cross kept Him from going there ...

No, we’ve not un-wrapped our Christmas gifts but we know the Gift of Christmas and His name is Jesus, God’s One and Only Son.

So, after all the gifts of Christmas are Un-wrapped, Un-boxed, Un-bagged, Un-loaded

Only the gift of Jesus can never be contained or commandeered to a single day in any given year.
