I am glad they are finally requiring masks. If people could give one ounce of compassion for others, we wouldn't have to make the mandate. Then there are people like Jason Boling who need to make a mockery of public safety. Your mask protects me, like my sobriety behind the wheel protects you.

Requiring a mask to protect the minority who suffer severe cases is like setting your house thermostat to 50 degrees so your perishible food doesn't spoil. Keep the vulnerable isolated and let asyptomatic people go about normal life. I will abide by the letter of the mandate but not the intent.

The intent is to keep those carriers who are asymptomatic from spreading the virus hither and yon. I wore one for 10 hours straight on Sunday and suffered no ill effects, other than not catching a potentially deadly disease.

I do not like to wear a mask; therefore, I stay at home. It's really that simple. Companies have every right to mandate the wearing of a mask just as they have the right to mandate the wearing of clothes. I have the right to decide not to wear a mask - at my home. I'm just blessed to have a job where I can work from home, and to have graduated MTSU this past semester. Lord knows what ridiculous things will be happening across campus this semester. Anyway, even if you individually do not fear the virus (I certainly don't), we should have respect for those around us who are fearful of it. Whether they have good reason or not is irrelevant.

Michele, unless you are in a full Hazmat suit, nothing you wear will keep you from catching a disease. You are a part of the problem. A reporter who has no clue to reality.

I didn't say it was to keep me from catching it. It's for you not to catch it from me. Because all the other people I was around were also wearing masks, their spittle didn't have a chance to make it to my facial orifices.
