Kenneth Leonard Jr. started working for his father at Murfreesboro Vacuum & Sewing Center when he was 13 years old.

More than 40 years later, Leonard locked the doors of Murfreesboro Vacuum & Sewing Center for the last time on Saturday, March 31. Leonard sold the building a few months ago with his eyes set on retirement.

But he didn't only repair appliances at the shop.

For the past 25 years, Leonard has enjoyed fun and fellowship with his family and friends every Saturday morning when they played bluegrass, country and gospel in the round. Oh, and there was a potluck too.

Saturday morning the parking lot was filled as was the shop for the last performance at the business on Memorial Boulevard in Murfreesboro.
