On Wednesday, Dec. 13, the Rutherford County Property Assessor’s Office conducted a fundraiser for the Salvation Army’s “Forgotten Angels," according to a statement from Property Assessor Rob Mitchell.

The “Forgotten Angels” are those children whose names were selected from the Angel Tree but their “Angel and gifts” were never returned to be given to them at Christmas.

“It was a team effort and a time our office to come together as a family and contribute to others less fortunate. We had a luncheon for our office and everyone gave something. I feel fortunate to work with some of the kindest and most compassionate people in Rutherford County” said Mitchell. “I will be giving the Salvation Army our gift of $300 to the Salvation Army. We hope it brings joy to those who are in need.”
