Storybook Breakfast

Families gathered at Cannonsburgh Village Saturday, April 17 for a fun and socially-distanced second annual Storybook Breakfast benefitting Rutherford Books from Birth.

The event, coordinated by United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties, featured a meet-and-greet with costumed Imagination Library book characters including Curious George, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, Pete the Cat, Where the Wild Things Are, The Rainbow Fish, and The Cat in the Hat. Participants enjoyed individually boxed breakfasts from Chickfila and Dunkin' Donuts, while the Murfreesboro Art League provided a coloring page station and community volunteers hosted a reading time in the village's pavillion.

All proceeds from the event provided funding for Rutherford Books from Birth which gives a Dolly Parton Imagination Library book title to all children in Rutherford and Cannon County from birth to age five.
