Rutherford County Schools Athletic trainers and coaches have been practicing emergency response drills throughout the school year to help students in the event of a cardiac event. 

The school district has now earned multiple "Gold Star Certified" ratings by the Safe Stars Initiative, a program offered by the Tennessee Department of Health and The Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
