Trick or treaters can view a Tennessee Highway Patrol helicopter and emergency vehicles while collecting candy during a drive-through Trunk or Treat Monday night.

Rutherford County Traffic Safety Task Force officers will distribute candy from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 28 on Samsonite Boulevard near the driver's license center.

The helicopter, cars from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Murfreesboro, Smyrna and the Veterans Administration Police, Rutherford County Sheriff's Office and a TDOT Help Truck will be displayed while parents drive through the area.

THP Lt. Jon Officer said task force members will hand out candy to the children and educational materials to parents about the new Hands-Free Tennessee law and the move over laws.

"Our purpose is to do community outreach and let people know about the task force," Officer said.

Drivers are asked to enter from Middle Tennessee Boulevard onto Old Samsonite Boulevard for the one-way traffic pattern.
