Student-athletes from several Rutherford County schools will benefit from a generous donation made by Republic Services.

The company has donated a total of $8,000 for football programs at eight high schools.

“Republic is honored to serve Rutherford County and strives to be a good neighbor to our community, “ said Jeremy Jernigan, general manager of Republic’s Middle Point Landfill. “We are excited to support these local schools and their student-athletes, and we look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with them and the school district.”

The eight schools to receive a donation are: Blackman High School, Eagleville School, LaVergne High School, Riverdale High School, Rockvale High School, Siegel High School, Smyrna High School and Stewarts Creek High School. The contribution also benefits students from Central Magnet School, who play football at Eagleville.

“We are grateful for the support of Republic Services and its commitment to student-athletes at multiple schools,” Director of Schools Bill Spurlock said. “We look forward to a continued partnership to provide further opportunities for our students.”
