Renewed Life Ministries Outreach needs your help by voting for them to receive a $25,000 grant from State Farm to help improve their community.

Drug overdoses have become the leading cause of injury death in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control. Renewed Life has spent the last 24 years honing best practices for addiction recovery. Mentors and caring staff provide safe space in a nine-bed residence for men.

The faith-based, 12-month program addresses not only the symptoms of addictions, but the root causes: identity issues that lead to destructive self-medication. To date, the ministry has supported over 800 families.

If selected for the Neighborhood Assist grant, Renewed Life will complete much-needed repairs to its facility and outfit a workshop on property. There, with the support of volunteers and graduates, students will learn basic woodworking skills and help to build furniture, an additional revenue stream for the ministry. This self-sustaining source of income is the next step for Renewed Life to expand to serve even more in the growing Middle Tennessee community.

"It means the world to us that State Farm identified our cause as a finalist for this grant, and if selected, we vow to be good stewards of the investment in our work," said Blake Hammill, Executive Director. Hammill assumed leadership following the death of Derek Faulkner, after his brief battle with cancer.

Renewed Life has until Friday, Aug. 23 at 11:59:59pm ET to rally votes and anyone voting is allowed up to 10 votes per day. On Sept. 25, the top 40 vote-receiving causes will be announced and a $25,000 grant will be awarded to each of the affiliated nonprofits. 

"This has been a difficult year for all of us in the RLMO family as we grieve Derek's passing. But we are thrilled by the support of our community, and with God's leading, we'll continue Derek's legacy, helping men to find freedom and restoration," said Hammill.

All U.S. residents who are 18 or older with a valid email address can vote for Renewed Life here in State Farm Neighborhood Assist.
