Murfreesboro Fire Rescue officials are on the hunt for a man they believe may have set a fire Sunday, July 28 at Yard Sale, 204 S. Front St., and they need the public's assistance with identifying the person of interest.

Fire & Life Safety Specialist Shan Womack said a subject was seen walking up to the dumpster behind the business and appears to have intentionally set it on fire.

"The person is believed to be a middle-aged male with visible leg tattoos," said Womack. "He was last seen wearing a bright orange T-shirt and light-colored shorts and dark shoes."

Surveillance footage shows the subject lighting a cigarette while approaching the dumpster, then using the same lighter to ignite its contents before leaving the area on foot.

The Fire Marshal's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying the person captured on video. If you have any information regarding the fire, please contact MFRD's Fire Marshals' Office at 615-849-2605 or Rutherford County Crime Stoppers at 615-893-STOP (7867) Monday through Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm. You may also contact the Tennessee Arson Hotline at 1-800-762-3017 for a cash reward of up to $5,000.
