Rutherford County deputy injured when struck while directing traffic

A Rutherford County Sheriff’s deputy is recovering after he suffered non-threatening injuries when struck by a car Friday evening on South Church Street.

At approximately 8:49 p.m., Friday April 19, Murfreesboro Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a car and a tractor trailer, near South Church Street and Savannah Ridge Drive.

The deputy was assisting with directing traffic when he was struck by vehicle.

Marchesoni said he was treated at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

The deputy had just arrived at the scene when struck, Chief Deputy Keith Lowery said.
