Patterson Park Community Center

Perform Murfreesboro premieres their production of "High School Musical Jr." for four consecutive nights April 25- 28 at the Washington Theatre in Patterson Park Community Center.

Based on Disney Channel’s hit teen TV Movie of the same name, "High School Musical" (2006) this musical from Music Theatre International has all of the lively dance performances, musical numbers, and fun characters of the original movie.

With a large cast, a ton of upbeat numbers, and exciting dance scenes from multiple guest choreographers, this is a fun, sing-out-loud, musical for the whole family. We're all in this this together in Disney Channel's smash hit musical featuring the students of East High.

It's the first day after winter break and The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians, and Skater Dudes find their cliques, recount their vacations, and look forward to the new year. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella—a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip—has just enrolled at East High. They cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical that is being led by Mr. Darbus. Although many students resent the threat posed to the "status quo," Troy and Gabriella's alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well.

Directed by Susan Hicks (Performing Arts Coordinator of Perform Murfreesboro and The Washington Theatre), and with Musical Direction by Shelby Parfait (Performing Arts Asst. Coordinator), this is the final production in Perform Murfreesboro’s 30th Season.
