A Rutherford County Fire-Rescue firefighter was injured fighting a fire, Monday morning, Feb. 11, according to a news release from the department.

The firefighter was transported by Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services for care, with non-life-threatening injuries and is stable at this time.

The fire was reported around 4:30 a.m. RCFR responded to a structure fire at a single-story home at on Keystone Road.

Upon arrival, heavy smoke and flames were visible from the structure. Crews were able to successfully extinguish the fire; as there had been a fire the day before at the same location, the power had been turned off and no residents were home at the time.

Both occurrences are currently being investigated.
