Murfreesboro man dies in Christmas Eve crash

On the morning of Christmas Eve, a 46-year-old Murfreesboro man died from injuries sustained in a three-vehicle crash on Memorial Boulevard, according to a press release from the Murfreesboro Police Department.

Around 10 a.m. Dec. 24, a Toyota Corolla, Cadillac Escalade and Lexus RX5 collided near MTCS Road on Memorial. 

The 2013 Toyota Corolla, driven by Damion Paul Hart, 46, of Murfreesboro was traveling south on Memorial Boulevard near MTCS Road in the left turn lane and crossed into the northbound lanes colliding with two northbound vehicles. Those were a 2015 Cadillac Escalade driven by Jennifer E. Deason, 37, of Murfreesboro and a 2008 Lexus RX5 driven by Ashlyn R. Hare, 27, of Murfreesboro.

Hart, who was not properly restrained, was trapped and extricated from the vehicle by Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue personnel prior to being treated and transported to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital by Rutherford County Emergency Services where he succumbed to his injuries. 

Deason and her child passenger were properly restrained and transported to Saint Thomas Rutherford by RCEMS with non-life-threatening injuries. Hare and two child passengers were properly restrained and did not suffer injury.
