Local poet Christopher Williams is producing the second installment of his live comedy, poetry and music show, "Under 1 Roof," on Friday evening, September 7, at The Warehouse in Murfreesboro.
Williams' vision is for a "diversity of entertainment" that adds up to a fun and inspiring evening. The first Under 1 Roof was held in early June of this year.
Hosted by fellow poet and comedian Nick Bush, the show's line-up features Jarrod Brown, Darius Lewis, Bryanna Licciardi, Natalia Mount, Garrett Phay, D'Vonna Taylor, Chandra J. Walton, part of the band Aconundrum, and Williams himself.
Doors open at 7:00 pm and the show starts at 7:30. Tickets are $10 on eventbrite.com or $15 at the door. A cash-only bar will be on site for this 21-and-up event. Door prizes are planned for the event, as well.
Williams is known on the local scene for his appearances both at the open mic and as a featured poet at Poetry in the Boro. He also recently appeared at the East Nashville Justice Jam and was selected as a finalist to compete at the Drop the Mic Poetry Slam, an event of the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis.
Williams says he started Under 1 Roof to provide middle Tennessee with a "new and much-needed source of entertainment for adults" that allows local creatives to share their talents.
"The live music is incredible, the comedians will have you laughing endlessly, and the poets will paint pictures with their words and provide their outlook on a variety of topics," he says.
The Warehouse is located at 730-A Middle Tennessee Blvd., Suite 14.
