LEBANON, Tennessee -- Crate Pros, a custom packaging, crating, and shipping provider, recently opened their 12,000-square-foot Nashville area facility aimed at providing turnkey packaging and shipping solutions for industrial and residential customers in Nashville and Middle Tennessee.

In today's digital world, people easily connect to others around the world through information and data, but when it comes to shipping possessions and freight, there often are not viable solutions for oversized, fragile, high value, heavy, or export items.

"For residential customers, our focus is helping them with their difficult to ship freight that might be too large for the UPS Store or too fragile or costly for movers to place on a moving truck," says Tim Slicker, founder and general manager of Crate Pros. "Whether it be fine art and antiques or a grand piano, we go to great lengths to ensure the freight is expertly packaged, reasonably priced, and that it arrives safely and on-time to the destination."

For commercial customers, Crate Pros aims to be seen as an extension of an organization's logistics and shipping team. This could mean providing just in time crates to support the production of finished goods or performing on-site packaging and crating of industrial machinery that is being relocated to a different facility.

"Whether it is a commercial or residential job, we offer a turnkey approach to customers that includes pick-up, packing, crating or boxing, shipping, delivery, and any other custom service that might be needed," Slicker explains.

While Crate Pros is a new company, Slicker is not new to logistics and transportation industry, having begun his career as a logistics officer in the Army as a captain during the liberation of Iraq and Baghdad.

He has held numerous other operational leadership roles in companies like General Mills and Bridgestone, and most recently was the general manager at a leading national crating franchise in Nashville.

Slicker is a West Point graduate and holds an MBA from Vanderbilt's Owen School of Graduate Management. He resides in Murfreesboro with his daughters Ainsley and McKinsley.
